Hi guys, I was just curious about my axolotl's coloring... According to the breeder, he's a wild-type (looks like a wild-type). He's dappled, has the golden ring around his eyes, and all of that, but his coloring looks more yellow-ish olive and is lighter than other wild types that I've seen. I know that young axolotls are lighter and wild types can get darker when they age, but he seems to be getting lighter instead. He also has white spots that are becoming more prominent on his tail (NOT fungus, I'm sure of it). Here's some pictures of him. Is this an odd color, or will he get darker? Is he some kind of other color morph? I love him no matter what, but since he looks different I
was just curious as to what you guys would think. Thanks!

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
