Hello all. A few months ago I made a post for help sexing my axie Fozz: http://www.caudata.org/forum/f46-be...otl-eggs-larvae-breeding/102777-boy-girl.html

Consensus at that time was that Fozz was a female. Well... a few months later, Fozz started getting some junk in the trunk.

Is s/he actually a male now? I've been using female pronouns!!

Fozz is 9-9.5in long and a year old. What do you all think?

Thanks for all opinions!

I suppose the only way to be positive would be to get another axolotl, put on some Marvin Gaye, and see if any magic happens

Male without a doubt

Looks like my male. I was not sure about my female until she laid eggs though. :D

Thanks for the responses. I've been holding out hope that Fozz could still be female, but I should probably just give it up  Not that it really matters, I just don't want to change over to calling her "he"

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
