I picked up my lotls yesterday. They are about a week old. Brand new to the lotl community.

The breeder said that they can get air bubbles and usually just pass them out. However...
Since yesterday my air bubble baby seems to have MORE air and is now fully upside down. The baby can swim... upside down. I have to figure out how to take/post a photo.
Due to the baby having more air than yesterday I am unsure what to do. The other lotl babies with floaty are all doing just fine.

Help?
Or is this just a wait and see if the baby can pass the bubble?
Am I going to lose my baby?
Help!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
