My name is Kam. I am from holland and currently I am not keeping any newts or salamanders but I used to keep Lissotriton vulgaris as a kid and that started my interest in them. Right now I only keep lizards (lacertids such as Gallotia sp. and Timon sp.). The species of newt I am considering getting is Cynops ensicauda ensicauda or Cynops ensicauda popei due to their aqautic lifestyle and hardy nature against warmer tempartures. I hope to learn a lot from you and perhaps acquire a few from a fellow forum member in the near future.

Welcome to the group. My great grandparents come from Holland. I plan to get some Common newts next month. A easy to keep species is Pleurodeles waltl (Spanish Ribbed Newts). They are not colorful but there is a luecistic (white) form. Good luck!
