Hi to everyone from Arkansas. My first reaction to seeing an Axolotl picture was "that's not real" lol, that was several years back. Now I am preparing for my first Axolotl and joined this forum so I can give it the best home possible by learning as much as I can. I'm sure I'll still have many questions about setting up cycling before I actually bring one home so I'll be over in the beginner area. I already bought all of my supplies so just need to get it started.

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
