I apparently have a tiger salamander, now what?

Thanks for the link. :) I love learning about these guys. This is going to be quite a fun journey. :)

I have a tiger salamander and he is a wonderful pet and very easy too take care of :) ..

He hasn't much of an appetite the last couple days. I've been getting conflicting info on how often and how much to feed him though so I'm not sure if I should be concerned or not.

It would be worth checking your water parameters, just to be on the safe side.
Apart from that your fella looks quite well built and can manage without food for a while, just watch out for weight loss or other symptoms, and keep us posted.

Water parameters seem fine but I did a 30% water change last night, just in case. He still didn't eat much today, but yeah, he's definitely sturdy. lol His belly is still about the same width as his head, so if that's a true gauge for tigers as well as axies then I guess he's still good to go. :) Thanks!

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
