Question: Salamander not eating help

So we have three Long toed salamanders who have lost their gils in the last several weeks and now they don't seem to be eating at all. They used to eat bloodworms everyday when they had gills and were swimming, but since they lost their gills they don't seem to be eating, we tried putting worms in there, I read an article they could eat Mealworms so we put some of them in there but when I check all the worms are still there. What can we do to make sure they are healthy or are they not eating and are trying to hibernate or something? Thank you so much for your help.

When salamanders morph, they typically don't eat. A week or so after morphing, you can try small and chopped night-crawlers, and other live foods

It is typical for them not to eat right after metamorphosis. If they were a healthy weight when starting morphing then they should be able to go a week or two without food just fine.

Have you moved them to a terrestrial setup? If not than i would do that immediately, as this species is terrestrial for a few years after morphing.
Try feeding moving prey - worms, woodlice, springtails etc.. If you have them in a naturalistic setup with moss, bark and soil, then you can simply throw in woodlice and springtails the the sals should be able to hunt them on their own. However, when doing this i still advise you try feeding worms.

Unless their enclosure is getting into the 40's they shouldn't be trying to hibernate.

Pictures of them and their enclosure would also help.

I hope they start eating for you
