Sandy Water Help

I recently moved home from college with my axolotl and had to put new sand in his tank. The sand made the water super cloudy. I’ve currently got my axolotl in a bucket with his tank water and air conditioner. I was wondering if he can go in his tank with the sand not settled yet. Also is he safe to leave in there bucket until the tank settles. Here’s a photo of the tank currently. I’ve got his clear tank water to add back to the tank still.

Sand needs washing to remove the fine particles, your going to learn this the hard way unfortunately. Remove the sand, put it in a bucket , place a hose in the bottom and run it till its clear. It can take ages. You can buy prewashed sand for aquariums.
