**HELP**7 Axolotls Rescued From My Local Aquarium!!

You'll just have to take things one day at a time where they're concerned, rather than worry about how long they'll be in there (ours have been in fridge for up to 3.5 weeks - my mother refuses to go into our fridge when she babysits in case they're there).

Feeding depends on your fridge temperature. If its lower than 10C then they may not eat. You can try putting a little food in an hour before you do a waterchange, that way if they haven't eaten it can just be cleaned out at the waterchange.

Just thought I'd do an update on this situation. I put the last 2 axies in the fridge for a couple of weeks and sadly one died in the process, then I tried the last with a blood worm one day and he ate which was great, he ate 4 in total...so we hoped he would recover as he was the only one that was eating well in the beginning, but sadly/strangly he died a few days later :( but at least they are all at peace now....i tried my best!

The main thing is you tried, no one could of asked anything more! and I'm sure the axies were so glad to get away from that horrid place, and loved the little time they had in a palace.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
