A few questions on a habitat for A. Gracile.
Firstly what do you guys use for leaf litter? Just leaves you pick up outside then check over, or do you pick off fresh ones and add them in?
Would you reccomend re-creating a stream, or should I not bother and leave more room in the tank and just use standing water?
Do you think the Salamander would appreciate a little space to climb and explore, aslong as it doesn't have potential to injure him?

That's pretty much all the questions I have, if you've got any tips feel free to share them too.

Thanks,
Ian

I just use leaf liter from outside my house. Here's a tip for ya: if you pick leaves off the tree they will rot and need to be changed in less than 2 months, if you pick the ones that have fallen naturally then all the sugars are out of them and you could easily get 6 months or more of use from them. I would scratch the stream idea and just go with a water dish. As long as you have a moist hide for them they should be in good shape.

Ok thanks for the tip Nathan I'm sure it'll come in handy. Also you asked me to tell you how the apple tree branches were. I did a little comparison, and compared to some sort fo oak.. not sure what it was really, it developed hardly any mould and non of the bark has pealed off. We'll see how it holds up with an inhabitant, but so far it's been great.

Lol, I know I answer a lot of your questions Ian, but this time it was Justin- not me. Hehe, thanks anyway though, I probably would've responded if I had seen this first. :p

Woops, You can tell I just got home from a tiring day lol! Sorry Justin, and thank you.
Nathan thanks for pointing out my mistake aswell. Goes to show I'm not very good with names.
