Im new to this forum so thought Id begin by telling you that Im the proud owner of a white (Leucistic) axie as of a week ago. My knowldege has increased incredibly though Im sure I still have more to learn . One thing Im really not sure about is...why are there jelly like sperm balls scattered in the tank? I do not own another one, and was wondering if they become sexually active regularly. Love to know as I have looked at many websights with no luck.

Hello!

Welcome to the site.

Males will sometimes deposit spermatophores even when a female is not present.

Would you be able to post a photo of these?

Hello and welcome  And congrats on your new pet.

Thanks for your interest. Funnily enough they seem to have disintegrated and no more sperm balls have been noticed. I cleaned the tank on the weekend (how often should one do it) and he is happy enough. Really noticed though that he likes to tuck himself vertically between the glass of the tank and the filter. Do you reckon that's normal? I will take a pic of that when he dows it next time.
