I just found out that my Axie (Axel) is a girl. I now have the dilemma of renaming her.

Any suggestions?

Well, I have the unique habit of naming animals after other species of animals and vegetables...I know, go figure. I don't even like vegetables.
For example...I have a parrot named Froggy, a newt named Mouse, chickens named Wolfie, Kitty and Ducky. And occasionally I like to mix things up and throw a Disney character in...
Betta fish: Mushu
More Newts: Cuzco, Zazu

I name everything...even my truck.

Thanx to all of you for the help.

She has now been renamed and she seems quite content with it.

I've called her Pepper.

I have noticed that in Enlish-speaking countries (US, UK, Aus), it's very common to name your newts/salamanders. (Most of it are Axolotls?) Besides UK, you don't see this that much in Europe. Am I right...?

I live in Germany and all my axies and the other newts and animals I´m housing are named, ..............even my car. It´s called Randy.;)

Hum, I've a rabbit called...Rabbit. Quite original :p

So I'll probably name my first Axolotl (a male) "Axo", and my second (a female) "Lotl".

Everywhere I've been people named their pets, any kind of pets! Since their are like family members it's quite normal.
I even named a meal worm when I was younger XD

i class all of my animals as family.
i have a dog named Ivy.
She is very clever.
And since birth has been so responsive to everything i say.
she understands every word.
I'm very big on actions.

I'm not however, saying my axolotl will fetch but shes well aware of her own existence.
Which makes her family in my opinion.

oke, but what if you've got a lot of newts/sally's, say... more about 50?
Of course, most people name their dog/cat, I also do, but not my caudate...after a few I'm out of names, or I will forget what name belongs to what newt...

I suppose if you have 50 they cant really be "pets".
