Illness/Sickness: Strange fungus on tail?

I have recently noticed a strange fluffy-like fungus on the end of my youngest axolotls tail. This seems to be bothering him, as his he scrunches his tail from time to time. He doesn't seem bothered, and eats normally, but this does have me worried a bit. What should I do?

Can you post a photo just so we can confirm that it is fungus?

If it is, I would recommend salt baths. 2-3 teaspoons of aquarium salt per 1 liter of water for 10-15 minutes once or twice per day.

what are your water parameters???what is the water temp?? can you provide a photo? if it is fungus she may need to start salt baths.....2 a day....morning and night (12 hours apart)......i have never needed to do it so please wait for someone else to reaffirm this

I will get a photo up in a few minutes.
Also, the tank right now is sitting at 65 degrees F, but during the day it can get as hot as 69 F. I put ice bottles in regularly, and the tank is (or, should be) fully cycled.

I'm not able to get photos up tonight, because lighting is pretty bad here at night. I will hopefully have some up tomorrow.
And sure enough, his tail is falling off as he walks around his tank. Little bits and pieces occasionally just drop off him. It's an extremely small portion of the tail though, so I don't know how worried I really should be about this.

You should be moderately worried that there is fungus, no matter how small.

Does your Axolotl have tank mates?

Fungus can be a bit challenging, so the fact that you are catching it early is a very good thing.

No, both of my axolotls are in seperate tanks. I do, however, plan to put them together when my youngest grows large enough.
