Question: My water filter is leaking charcoal!

Does anyone know if this is normal for a new filter? I am rather frustrated that I have to clean my new set up again, though I am grateful that I tried it out before putting anything in it. What should I do?

Are they lumps? or powder?
When you get a new filter you are meant to rinse the filter pads to get rid of the powder. If there are lumps coming out then it is likely there is a tear in one of the carbon pads, you would need to replace this pad.
