Stubborn Algae...

I found some algae and it was dark green , i cant remove it no matter how hard i tried, i used sponge and tried scratching it off and it doesnt want to go away !! anyone knew how I can remove stubborn Algaes?

Did you use a scourer sponge? It should be possible to remove all algae with one of those, though I have to admit that I need to use all my 110 kg sometimes to get rid of everything.

Yup tried it , maybe it's stained? thats why it wont get off?

Jerome if its difficult to get off you could try scraping it off with a window scraper or a sharp blade (careful to do it away from yourself & axolotls) that should get it off the glass - then you can siphon it out.

Post a pic of your tank & the algae if you can

My aquarium is glass so if I can't get the tough green stuff with a few swipes from the magnetic aquarium cleaner, I will use a razor blade and scrape down the sides.

Adding a lot of live plants to the enclosure has also helped me with this algae as the plants will out-compete it for light and nutrients.

Razor blades work great! Just be careful with how much pressure you apply. My tank has some nasty scratches in it from trying to get off algae and such.
