Strange axolotl behavior??? help pls!

IT doesnt accept any food anymore and it would be very untrue that they have constipation because i dont have gravel or rocks.

Do you have any treated water that's been sitting for a little while (not in your tank)? If so, I'd talk him/her out and put her in a tub with that water.

Yes every day i feed them tubifex worms , crickets , and frozen blood worm 1 cube each axolotl

hey people anyone help me??? im having hard time feeding it , i have to get 20-30mins to get him eat he refuses bloodworms , mealworm,cricket , tubfex worms , he only accepted fish after 22mins of shoving in its mouth is something wrong with him or is he just full?

Try not feeding for a day then seeing if they take food more readily.

You're probably over feeding. I wouldn't force feed unless they urgently need it.

You're also feeding the wrong kind of food. You've been told numerous times what kind of foods are appropriate. Crickets and mealworms can definitely cause constipation from their exoskeleton.

I onlygive my axolotl mealworm and crickets once a month staple was bloodworm,tubifex, and earthworm, fish is fed when no food is avaiable atm

You should also try not /forcing/ it in his mouth. Axxies are delicate animals. You also shouldn't tell other members to shove food in their axxies mouth when you do the same and yours isn't feeding. Not to rant, but Axxies aren't toys.

Try cutting an earthworm in half, maybe less depending on the axxies size. Use FORCEPS (not fingers) and dangle it in front of him.

Also, watch your temperature. That can play a role in feeding.

That's the only way to feed some axolotl that's what i do with my pacman frogs last time as said by the pet store.I know axolotls arent toys im just scared because they might starve to death , it's the only way now and then especially dangled only when feeding fish for easier catch.

If your axolotl has good body weight, it will be fine for well over a week not feeding. I am very concerned that you may be over traumatising your axolotl with force feeding and it moving from tank to tank. Try leaving it for a couple of days, some where quiet and in cool clean water and then offer food.

Fantastic! It may well have been that he/she'd just eaten a little too much - they probably just got a little stuffed and needed to move it through their transit. They can sometimes get constipation from mealworms, as has been said, because of their hard exoskeletons. Pellets, bloodworm and earthworms seem to be some of the most balanced foods.

I would gently feed one bit/cube more of their favourite food (seems to be bloodworm for yours), maybe once every other day until they look and act better. Obviously it's up to you to judge when to feed more, but I'd take it slowly - resist the cute eyes telling you they're starving until you're sure (axxies are like labradors that way, you could seriously believe they have never seen food in their life when you fed them ten minutes ago!) Sounds as if your axxie might have a delicate tummy for a bit!

As has already been said, your axxies sounded like they were very well fed and will be okay easing up on the food a little. Very happy they're eating again! There's nothing worse than thinking something's wrong with them and not knowing what it is.
