My oldest axies are Edward (leuc) and Bella (wild), I got them when I was a kid and they are both about 15 now! They also bred about 8 months ago and Edwards gills have slowly gotten smaller over the years, but they still seem happy and active! Here they are now (sorry my phones camera is pretty crappy)

Yeah I was quite surprised when I worked out their age recently, my parents got them as juveniles when I was about 7 or 8 and now I'm 22 and when I left home I inherited them! I don't know what I'll do when they eventually pass away, I can't remember a time without them but hopefully I can make the rest of their lives as happy as possible

my little guy is 25! perhaps older, my mother got him as a fully developed adult when she was 10, she's now 35 and he's still alive and plodding along!

Wow! My oldest is 11, and quite interestingly, she is a leucistic that has started to develop a dark color patch. The vet who looked at her said it wasn't something to worry about.

it may be fake tho its probaly just that there liying about age
Not a good idea to accuse other forumn members of lying even if the post is from 2016. Twenty five is an exceptional age for an axolotl, i know two keepers with axolotl over twenty so its not unbelievable for axolotl to live so long. As axolotl age they can lose gills, develop odd bumps, lumps and colour patches. I recently lost two fifteen year olds, one was immaculate , the other looked like i found him in a skip.

I can only guess but I think my axolotl is about 10. I've had her four years and she is a good 9" long. The people I rescued her from said they couldn't remember. (eye roll)
