Hi Beardog.
I'm not very experienced, but I would expect your little one to keep the markings.
I'm sure one of the more experienced keeper will be able to tell you exactly what colour you axie is, but to me it kind of looks a bit like an olive/copper/light wild type.
If that is the case then as it gets older it will look more like the first picture of one of my juveniles.
I agree with you and love the markings on these little fellas.
It looks a lot like my juvenile Axolotl, Jabu! Here's a picture for a reference, on the right was about three weeks ago and on the left is from last week! ?
It seems to be getting darker but still keeping the adorable spots!
hi Beardog i raised a batch awhile ago that looked the same as your babies mine were golden and wild type mix and this is them as adults now just nearly a year old they've even kept little golden patches
Very cool looking! Seem all my babies are either albino or spotted with more or less spots and some cool patterns. I have a lot of golden as well. Lots of fun raising these guys
Ok, stupid question. I keep hearing about the ring around the eyes to tell if they are or not melanoid. What does this ring look like?
Plus, what would these guys fall under?
The two older ones are the parents
