1-2 feet deep. I think they are Rhyacotritonidae but I know very little about salamanders. They are brown with orange bellies. Am gathering info on how to make them comfortable - how to set up this aquarium

New member from Eugene Oregon. I’m setting up an aquarium for my granddaughter Kiley (age 6). We caught 2 salamanders yesterday in a runoff of water

You should never keep native wildlife it is highly illegal in most of north american.
Salamanders are having a hard enough time surviving without being taken into captivity.
Many will die as well - a tank ecosystem is hard to get going as an after thought.
