I received a new lotl through ups and he or she arrived with an air bubble this past Friday. Never experienced this with any of my axolotls.....what do I do?
trying to get into this week. Not a lot of vets in my area that see axolotls. The breeder told me to encourage him/her to eat and keep the water nice and cold. It's been a week since he/she was delivered and the bubble doesn't look any better.

You need a vet ASAP. This bubble may be under the skin.. air bubbles don’t usually last this long & usually aren’t visible like that. Go to arav.org and you can find the nearest specialist. Good luck!
Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation
Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
