ARGENT!!! really underweight! Need Help!

so i rescued an axolotl last night at midnight.... when we got her shes is super super skinny like I don't even know how she is even alive right now skinny . the problem is she will eat but she won't open her mouth at all, she tries but its rally hard for her. forever 2 years she had been fed blood worm cubes and freeze-dried shrimp. nothing an ADULT axolotl should be on for TWO YEARS!!!!. I was really to rip this lady's head off.... I really need your guy's help on what to do. here is a pic of her, she is hungry 24/7 and will go after anything. but can hardly open her mouth.

I can get blood worms for her, I ment to get them today but the store closed so I have to get them tomorrow. And she can hardly open her mouth. I think she hads ammonia burns in her esophagus. Her eyes where also really cloudy when I got her as well. But they are slowly getting less cloudy.

Not the worst body condition Ive seen at all.

Live Blackworms would be better than live bloodworms.
thawed raw salmon in tiny chunks are well than can be sucked in would be worth a try.

im sorry, I got black worms and blood worms mixed up. my local pet store hade blackworms so I'm able to pick them up, she might be able to eat salmon but I'm not sure, she can hardly even eat tiny pieces of raw shrimp and worms.

its the worse I have seen by far of having axolotls.

I'm glad this is the worst you've seen - its horrible sad to see the beyond emaciated lotls from pure starvation.

Just keep offering in tiny bits as often as you can and get black worms when you can they should be easy to suck in as they are so small but trigger the feeding and hunting which may help as they can stay in with him/her without spoiling the water.

ya, I don't even know what age he/she is, the owner said she had Stimpy( former name) for 2 years.... but he/she does not look like a 2-year-old axolotl to me. I have a 1-year-old and shes HUGE, but ya my plain is going to the local store to pick them up. I mean she rrreeeaaalllyyy wants to eat every time you walk by her she follows you even though we think shes blind.

she also has green eyes.... as well. .

Green eyes means GFP

If up to or under 6" then a mini. If over 6 inches just a small axolotl but likely from poor food choices

Just keep up to offering food as much as you can
