My Lucy is a 12 years old albino axolotyl. I have a mouse in the house and don't want to kill it. I live next to the bush and get them from time to time. I am thinking of buying an ultrasonic pest repeller that you put into the powerpoint and it deters mice. I am concerned that the soundwaves might affect Lucy. Does anyone know if they are safe for axolotyls. Would appreciate any advice. Thanks

They don't really work, FYI.
My neighbour purchased some and they did nothing. They are a bit like the snake repeller solar gadgets that you can buy to keep snakes away. They don't work either.
Buy the humane traps from Bunnings or Coles instead. They catch the mice and hold them until you release them far, far, FAR away.
I have a mouse issue at the moment and have had to trap them unfortunately. I hate doing it but our area is also bush and has a river just down the road which means they breed out of control and then try to upgrade their living arrangements (ie inside someones home).

Thanks very much for your reply. I wont bother buying them if they don't work.
I do have the humane traps but this mouse won't go in at the moment. I just thought the ultrasonic repellant, if it didn't affect Lucy, would save me a lot of work as if I don't take them along way away, they come back. I know that for a fact as I put a red dot on one years ago and put it back in the bush about 1 1/2 kilometres away and it came back.

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
