Hi, I’m new here. I hope you can give me some advice. My little has not eaten for almost 2 weeks, I’ve tried everything. He goes for the food but cannot seem to swallow. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Apologies I misread your first message. I’ve tried bloodworm, pellets, salmon, dendrobena worm. It seems he cannot keep food down.
hmm, ok. personally I would give nightcrawlers a try and maybe try soaking some in garlic, nightcrawlers are the only real thing I had any luck with when one of mine was refusing, although it is odd that he's going for it but not eating it. If still nothing than I would go to an exotic vet. is there anything that could be causing impaction or anything? any gravel, small stones or ornaments or anything?

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
