it’s harmful to breeders and for research purposes, IMO.
Yeah, i get it. Im going to breed my axolotls, and mudpuppies. And i can make money off that, and now i notice that this is the downfall of the hobby.

Tbh, i dont really recommend forcing your senator to say no, but..

i also plan on breeding axolotls, the knowledge that my right to sell to states other than my own is being infringed upon is rather frustrating. i’m not sure if axolotls are included, but there are 200+ species involved. (201, i believe, but still technically 200+) i cannot imagine breeding full time only to have this law pass and your way of making money is destroyed

Oh, so axolotls arent? This will affect me, then, but only a little bit if no.

i’m not sure, i think john mentioned something about (i’m paraphrasing) ‘the hobby will be destroyed short of tiger salamanders and axolotls’ which led me to believe those species are exempt, but idk

LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MY BABIES I CAN STILL SELL YAYYYY but its sad about the other species, which is, well, you know, and its sad.
Does this still mean that it cant cross state lines? I would be mood changing right now if so.
I just dont understand the bill. I dont think it would pass. But even so..

Does anyone know if it has passed the Senate
I'm thinking it didnt. We should of heard by now. Like the old saying goes no news is good news. Not to mention,I've just purchased several tigers in the past few weeks from 2 different states. Pretty sure it did not pass😊.

It was dropped from the final legislation but it will be back.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
