For a couple months now, my axie keeps his mouth open slightly (see photos). He also sort of 'gulps' intermittently as well. His lower lip looks a little "lumpy" to me as well. I thought it may be oxygen levels, so I added an air bubbler, but he seems to hate it, so I took it out (disturbed the water too much). I checked his water chemicals and they were off, but I have since corrected them to proper ammonia and nitrite/nitrate levels. His water temp is 65 degrees.

He is eating well and poops regularly and is responsive and active.

Is his mouth being open all the time something I should be really concerned about?

Thanks in advance.

there does seem to be some swelling to the lower lip which may be an indication of infection, this means a probable trip to the vets.
