I’m currently rearing some Spanish ribbed newt larva in smaller tubs and have a 20 gallon long for when they start to lose their gills. I’m only planning on keeping 2-3 adults which should be comfortable in there but I’m wondering how many juveniles the tank could house? It would be temporary, a few months at most, just until I can find homes for all the lil guys.

Depends on how big they are when they go in. Assuming you are doing weekly 50%+ water changes you could easily house 30 or so 2-3 inch individuals. Less if they are bigger. Just remember you need a top, they can climb when they are young.

Thank you I have about 20 rn so it should work! And I did make sure to get a screen top.

I luff these rubbed newts!🤣 to think I never would have housed or cared for them if I wasn't offered them for free and I'm so glad I did. They have so much personality. My girl says they look like chonky lil dinos
