Here are some new pictures I took of my axie. Sorry about the poor quality of the pics. I put some new lights in his tank (some aquarium lights a blue one and a green one). His light is only on when I'm feeding him so I can see where the worm goes. The colored lights are a lot dimmer than the normal lights and seem to not bug him as much. And the last picture is of the little "tank" where the guppies have babies!! lol.

Hello,

Your axis look lovely.

I am concerned by the babies being in with that rough substrate, please be careful as I hear so many people having issues with impaction. The little babies eat anything big enough to go in their months and cannot digest a rock.

Get some fine sand or leave the bottom of the tub clear!

Good luck with raising your new ones!

Were you referring to axolotl babies? Because I'm pretty sure that's being used for guppies, not 'lotls. Nothing to worry about with guppy babies being in with that substrate. :D

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
