Thankfully, he has fully recovered.
His leg now looks deformed, sort of at the wrong angle (as in the bottom part of the leg should go down, but it hangs up, as if on the wrong way). This doesn't seem to affect him though, and is now enjoying life swimming freely in a 400L (105G) tank with my two other axies.
