Looks like pyrrho paradise! :) What kind of lights are you using?
Here's my adult C. pyrrhogaster tank.

Thanks. Big fan of your setup too. How big is the tank?

I'm using finnex fugeray planted plus LEDs.
 
Its about 35 gallons I think.
I also have an LED fixture on there at the moment, its a Beamswork double bright unit which is brilliant, but they don't seem to be available any more. I'll have a look for finnex ones as I want to convert my T. verrucosus tank over to LEDs as the fluorescents fail.
Your tanks look really healthy, what is the red plant called that's growing at the front?
 
Hello.

Although the pictures are not very good, I can show you some pictures of aquariums. All these tanks were dismantled long ago by moving house, hope soon to show pictures of today.

Hi Sean and ChinaDog,

What are the depths of your aquariums? I am trying to collect just this sort of information regarding specific lights, the plants that do well under them, and at what distance those plants are from the light source. Any details you care to provide are greatly appreciated!

Mine is 15" deep. I've been trying to find the spec of the Beamswork LED light fixture I use but I don't think they are available any more. I do know I posted it in a different thread on here somewhere though, so I will report back when I find it.

Edit; Its 3840 lumens.

Don't know if some of mine count, but here's Pirate's set-up when I still had him:

Here are very bad photos of all my setups.

In order, Hypeselotriton cyanurus, viewing from the end.
Hypeselotriton orientalis aquatic transition tank, viewing from the end. I also have a small terrestrial setup for the smaller ones which i haven't put in an aquatic tank yet.
Ambystoma talpoideum temporary setup.
Pleurodeles waltl, the glass is terribly dirty but you can sort of make out what the tank looks like.
Taricha granulosa outdoor vivarium, nothing in it yet, still trying to get a hold of some grans.
Ambystoma talpoideum outdoor vivarium. I will be putting them in this spring.
Ambystoma gracile larva tub, still need to add plants.
Salamandra salamandra salamandra outdoor vivarium. Hopefully they will be old enough to breed next year.

Yes it is, i found it dumped on the side of the road and instantly saw the possibilities :frog:

Hey sorry took so long to reply...been busy, but yes I'm a big fan of the fugeray, especially the planted plus ones, they make the red plants(alternanthera reineckii variegated) really stand out. I've had it in my planted fish tank for years where it grows like crazy. Started putting cutting in there and I'm pleasantly surprised it's growing in there without the need for CO2 or other supplements.

    Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
