I have two Axolotls that are between 4-5 inches. I used to have seven zebra danios in the same tank, I was going to remove them asap. Now there are only five, there is not a trace of the other two, anywhere. My axies do look a bit fatter but the fish where as big as their heads! I don't wan't to hurt them so Im removing the fish soon. The danios leave the axolotls alone other than stealing their food so I wasn't worried about any harm coming to the axies. Is this bad, should I do something about it? The Axies look healthy.

Fresh-water fish are usually not a well-balanced diet for axolotls and can contain parasites. An occasional treat of a health defenseless fish (i.e., not something like a corydoras catfis, which has spines in its pectoral fins and can lock them in place) is not likely to hurt your axies (but is fatal for the fish.)

Yes, axolotls will eat things as big as their heads. (See the various pictures showing x-rays of axolotls that have eaten non-edible things as big as their heads - very sad.) Zebra danios are long and skinny - no problem to swallow. (It is possible they just jumped out of the tank, but I doubt it.)
