 I fed my axolotl his usual one worm a day today, but it was a pretty big one this time, it took him a little extra effort to get it down with all the escape attempts from the worm but he did get it down. Now he's being really active and he looks fat, is this something I should be concerned about? It is it just a happy fat axolotl? Your help is appreciated.

Regards, zane

That should not be a problem, since they do not chew up their food. The worm is just gonna need to be digested and then everything will be fine again. Like previously stated, that is just a happy Axolotl! :D

All right, thanks for the help :D he's just sitting there looking satisfied now haha, I appreciate the quick response :D

Nothing is better than having a fat and happy axolotl! In the future, though, if you feel like a worm might be too much of a bite for your axie, just try cutting the little bugger into smaller bites.

It takes a little longer to feed them, but it's worth it if it means they can eat a bit easier. Trust me, you don't want your axie to regurgitate a worm. Such a bad smell, and god help you if it gets stuck in a plant.
