I found this one in my backyard under a piece of wood in Arcata California.

This little guy was also found in Arcata in a marsh area. I believe this is a Rough-Skinned Newt - Taricha granulosa?

Red-backed salamander and the second a juvie rough skinned newt..

Correction, the slender one is a California slender salamander (Batrachoseps attenuatus) and the other is as Ian stated a rough-skinned newt (Taricha granulosa).

Yes def. a California slender salamander and not a redback. Do you plan on keeping either or both of the salamanders Christian?

Those are totally neat photos.
