Question: Acting fine, looking weird

Hey everyone! I was just wondering if this is normal for an axolotl, its not something I've noticed on him before. I did notice that that side of him was swollen, although it is looking better today. He's still been eating but has been a little more shy than usual.

Looks fine to me, it's always easy to see a leucistic with a full tummy.
Is that thick sand or thin gravel?
