Ok yesterday we woke up to our 4 axies been more or less completely white and they where all were very sluggish, nugget was the worst off as we thought he was dead as he was on his side and his legs were in funny positions, and gills looked badly (they looked like they were nearly gone) (they all had been fed the night before and all were fine) so we have put them all in the fridge straight away and done 15 min salt baths every 6 hours, and while they are in the fridge they are in dechlorinated water with almond leaf extract in and almond leaves in which is changes on a morning and a night, so there slime coat is not hurt as much with the baths and to help fight the fungal as well and today they are all looking ALOT better and they are a lot more active even tho they are in the fridge some still have some really small bits on them so I think they just need a few more baths with the time decreased on the time spent in the salt bath and that’s it, nugget looks like his old self as well he just looks a bit pinker which I think will go in time, I believe I know what has caused the outbreak, as we did a 50% water change to try and get the temp of the tank down due to the hot weather 3-4 days ago, and I think it is that what’s caused it, the only thing I'm unsure of is whether I need to do a full strip down of the tank and filter or not as I don't want the same thing to happen again if they go back in as the water in the tank is cloudy as if we have had a bacterial bloom so I'm unsure if the tank needs a strip down or not any insight on this issue would be great thanks, the axie's will be staying in the fridge until I'm positive they are better and I know the tank is safe for them to go back into. (I would have taken pictures of them with the fluff on them but it didn’t cross my mind till they where nearly better)
I will keep you all updated with how they are doing,
also do I need to continue with the salt baths a few days when they have cleared up fully to make sure the fungus is gone? or do i just stop the baths when they look clear
