Hey.

So I'm pretty sure its almost cycled! In the last couple of days ammonia is dropping and sitting at almost 0ppm, Nitrite spiked and hit 1ppm and has remained that way for three days, and Nitrate has been rising over the last three days to almost 10ppm. Water is nice and clear. So am I close?

If so what next? Stop the daily water changes? Chuck in some plants to eat Nitrates (do they do that?)? Relax and do nothing?

Would love your help.

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
