Aloe vera

i was thinking that a couple of small aloe vera plants would look nice in my tank. are they safe with newts? i know most other animals are fine with them.

also, do you think the plant would do well in an unlighted tank? it would be in a pot of dirt on the "land' part of the tank.
 
i just realized that aloe vera is a type of cactus... i'm guessing it wont do so well in a humid newt tank. but if anyone has ever successfully kept one in that type of environment, let me know ;)
 
I have one aloe vera plant in with my paddle tail...It is in a pot that is used as the land area...It has done well but it has only been a few weeks
 
Never mind this...It died and my paddle tails were ripping it apart and climbing on it.
