Hello folks, just wanted to say hello as I am looking to get some Axolotls and maybe some Newts. I have been reading alot of your posts and it has helped me get my tank started and ready. I hope to one day be as informative as some of you guys and gals are. I know if I am ever in need of help, great people like you will be willing to share information to help me out.

Aloha,

Welcome! This site should help you out a great deal. What types of newts are you interested in?

Alpine, Chinese firebelly, Banded I love em all.

Hi krk, I remember you from long ago. Welcome back.

Yes, Jennewt. I believe you sent me some eggs that unfortunatly never made it. Once a fan always a fan I guess. Since then I got me a Tiger Salamander. This has been the only one for a long time, and now I want more. Hopefully this will happen soon. Great to be back.

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
