Amadeus being sick

Amadeus - who has so far eaten everything in site and grown a huge amount in the past month has thrown up his dinner big time, plus what looks to be yesterdays and even possibly the days befores as well.
Question: am I feeding him too much, too often?
He seems ok in himself and Constanza is fine. The tank is cool (below 68f) and the water seems ok. He's been doing a fair amount of floating today.. but I don't know if this is more than normal, or if I am just noticing it more.
I thought I would leave him a day or so before I fed him to let him settle down.
All suggestions gratefully received (even if its to tell me that I am over reacting).

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
