Anyone able to give me some advice, or pointers on how to identify this sub species besides range?

Here's the Tiger in Question. It is a 50/50 chance it came from Nebraska... or in some potting soil used on Sonoran desert plants that came from Arizona.

Any other information pertaining to this sub-species would be great... papers, conservation status... you know the works.
