Ammonia question

Having a 33 long with 4 adult axi.
2 canisters with sponge intake
1 sponge filter
chiller
master test kit

Ammonia levels wont go down, did frequent every 2 day water change. Prime conditioner.
tap water is 0 ppm. getting about .25 in tank
tried it get it down in a week but no luck.

This is aiming towards over stalking i suppose?

any advice would help

4 axies in a 33 g is a lot of bioload. How big are the canisters? Is it possible for you to get another tank and move 1-2 of them? As for now, you will have to keep up the water changes. The levels are not alarming yet, but will be harmful with long time exposure. Keep a look out for nitrite as well!

That would definitely be more than sufficient! How long has it been running?
