Amount to feed juvenile

Hello, my Portuguese fire is about 5 months old , maybe 2" or less long. I've had him for 4 days now and have been feeding 1/8" crickets. I hate crickets and obviously would much rather feed worms for a million reasons. Around here I can only get my hands on canadian night crawlers. I bought some of those and chopped off the tail end of one. After i chopped off that 1" segment I chopped it in half again. This was small enough for him to eat. My question is, about how much of these small worm segments should he be eating right now? Where online can I purchase really small earthworms?

I would recommend you stick with the cut-up canadian nightcrawlers. Small worms are often the "red wiggler" types of worms, which have a funky smell and are sometimes rejected.

I would suggest feeding a juvenile once daily, as much as he/she will eat.

Thanks for the reply, I feel bad having to chop that small section off the night crawler. It would be great if I could find a smaller worm which could be fully ingested in one sitting. having a hard time digging some up around here.

Def. staying away from red wigglers, after all that I've read .
