Hello all. I've recently taken on some new axolotls and a few days after arriving one of them started growing anchor worms. Dimilin isn't available to buy in the UK so off we went to the exotics service at the Royal Veterinary College. They removed all the anchor worms under anaesthetic but couldn't get hold of dimilin either. They suggested an approach that has been used in fish but they weren't aware of it being used in axolotls and were a bit worried it might harm them. Luckily they have now had 2 doses of the treatment and are showing no ill effects. Just thought it might be useful for other UK people to know about it. We are using the dog flea treatment "program" containing lufenuron once a week for 5 weeks. I'll update at the end of the 5 weeks with how we've got on but 2 weeks down and there are no signs of any more of the anchor worms
