What methods can be used to deter the gowth of mold inside a vivarium that wont harm it's inhabitants? My enclosure is developing mold and im concerned with it's un-sightliness, as well the negative health impacts from spore inhalation, etc.

If the enclosure is a recent set up then mold development in/on terrestrial sections is pretty normal. It should decrease as the enclosure becomes established. Attempting to use chemicals to prevent the mold growth is counterproductive as there is risk of ecotoxicity.

When I set up my current tank I was all proud of the woodwork and the waterfall and how the T.grans could choose between more time on land or water. Then the mold set in and the whole thing looked like hell and I was quite worried that the mold would negatively effect the newts. The advice from thins board was to let it ride and after a few weeks it just went away and never returned. Trust in the cycling / maturing process and all will be well.
