Hi everyone, anyone have any good links to any chillers that arent crazy overpriced or for industrial use? I`m having a brutal time looking for one, I have a 30 gallon aquarium and questionable AC in the house :ROFLMAO:

I found one on amazon that had good reviews, but it still about broke the bank for even a 40g. Nothing else worked reliably in keeping the water temps down though, even with good A/C..haha. This one was just under $400, a 1/10 Active Aqua, but is still working great a year later, if that info helps. They sell the same varieties on ebay, I think, but this one was cheaper on amazon.

Have you considered using an electronic cabinet cooler. The material is very inexpensive. There are several varieties available on amazon.

Example (found on amazon):
DIYhz Water Cooling Computer Radiator, 12 Pipe Aluminum Heat Exchanger Liquid Cooling Radiator Heat Sink 240mm for CPU PC Laser Water Cool System DC12V Black
$22.99
Mavel Star 12v dc Submersible Mini Water pump PC Cpu Water Cooling Pump 63 GPH
$13.99
Fermtech FastRack Food Grade Vinyl Tubing - 10 feet 5/16 ID - 7/16 OD, Clear
$10.49 ($1.05/Foot)

That version just uses a heat sink but there are some available that use fans.
You would need a source of cold water. I once cooled a cabinet by circulating water from a standard Styrofoam cooler filled with ice water.
I had to add ice occasionally but considering the cost it was worth as a temporary solution.

I eventually purchased a used small refrigerator , drilled holes for the water lines and cycled chilled water from the refrigerator.
I was then confronted with the problem of the cabinet getting too cold, so I had to add a cheap thermostat.

When it was all said and done, my cost was well below $100.00

my chiller is about 1000- 1500 bucks per chiller, i have 2 and it keeps about 64 degrees low. its amazing.. so a 3000$ setup isnt that bad, right? (ps, im not RICH.)
i also love when my axie floats on the bubbles. he loves it.
