Any one know what this is?

Probably not but It is worth the ask. The picture are pretty dark... I'll take better ones a bit later. It has a lot of orange and black spotting on it's back and is much stalkier and with a pointier snout than the others I received. This creature was exported from Hong Kong... I have no idea where in China it originated but I am looking for more like it. Any ideas as to what it might be?

its Paramesotriton fuzhongensis - the rough, dark skin with orange blotching is the give away.

Thanks a bunch. I have been back to look for more every shipment but all are brown... Other species. Do they often come in this color?

Paramesotriton fuzhongensis is extremely variable in colouration. Look for other animals with a similar base colouration, and similar general body shape. Females are usually more bulky with a longer lower tail in proportion to their body. Its definately worth getting a small group (as long as you have space for them).
