Definitions for these terms here. I am not quite sure on them myself but...

aquarium: enclosure for fully aquatic animals

aqua-terrarium/paludarium: contains both a land and water section

terrarium: An enclosure for plants.

vivarium: This term is used when animals are present in a terrarium.
 
Aquarium – a tank or enclosure containing water in which aquatic animals (and sometimes plants) live. Normally a tank with transparent sides.

Aqua-terrarium/paludarium – An [aquarium] that has a portion of land area

Terrarium – An enclosure for animals and/or plants which is wholly terrestrial.

Vivarium – A term used for an animal enclosure where attempts are made to replicate the animals natural environment.

Vivarium – A term used for an animal enclosure where attempts are made to replicate the animals' natural environment as closely as possible. Often includes both land and water.
