I want to paint some of the styrofoam floats that I am using in a few of my tanks. I'm not too familiar with paint in general. What is a safe type to use?

Thanks Mark. I'll check and see if there is a comparable product here in the US.

The problem is that A. a lot of paints will not work on styrofoam and B. those that will are not likely to be aquarium safe. I am sure there is a specialied product out there but it will be a bear to find and likely be expensive. I would coat the float with a light coat of brown silicone and dab it with either gravel or cocoa fiber. It will be easy to deal with and the moss will stick better.

What is the english word for the glue/cement you use to stick tiles to a wall? Use that... Don't know if it will sink though.

Did you ever have any luck finding an aquarium safe paint?

It seems that acrylic paint may be the way to go- its non toxic and apparently has been used many times before in aquariums with great success, I'll be looking into it in more detail and i'll get back to everyone with my findings

I decided not to go with it and instead just let the algae and java moss cover things up naturally.
