Aquarium sand in Sydney Aust

Hi all,

Does anyone know where I can get Aquarium Sand from in Sydney?????

I went into an Aquarium shop today and asked but they looked at me as though I'd just grown three heads....How rude!

heres a idea for you that i have used for many years in my fish tanks when i want sand go to a bulk soil yard like soils aint soils or somewhere where you would by mulch and ask for a bag of washed river sand if they dont have washed get what they got in river sand and wash it yourself you can normaly buy a bag for about 5 dollars and this will cover a 6 ft tank this is the sand i have in my tank with my axies hope this helps

Thanks so much for the advice, I hadn't thought about that option...
I'll do some ringing around my local suppliers and see what I can find.

Many people also use play sand, like for children to play with. I don't but others say thats where they got theirs.

yep good old playpit sand gotta love it!

Its good that you want to get sand though because it is much better than gravel or anything else really, trust me almost everyone likes their sand.

I certaintly agree that sand would be better, almost everyone has chosen sand over gravel etc..

I'm trying my local soil etc suppliers tomorrow and fingers crossed it all works out.
