here are some of the latest pics, first is of the group-as you can see they now have some dark pigment in their eyes

you can now see more clearly the 'appendages' on the side-i took these to be limbs before-now that they are more defined i can see they are the gills-they look a lot like dragonflys with these coming out of the sides of their heads (see upper left egg for most detail shot)

i can see one dud in the batch as well as the veining of the yolk on the good ones, they are moving quite rapidly inside on their own and have an aversion to light and jostling. here is my best close up of them

checked on the parents the other day and neither is in the nesting area-both left it and appear not to want to go back even though it is one of the best refuges in the tank

Here's mine as of today (at ~60 days). I expect them to hatch in about two weeks.

2 weeks?-my how ive lost track of time....of mine i had to separate out 4 that had perished, ive got some pics i can post soon

another egg died yesterday-im worried if i removed them from the mother too soon?

How old were they when you removed them? It may be the substrate. I like Perlite and distilled water, at least it starts out uncontaminated. None of mine have died (so far)

yeah-its a high probability i did something wrong, i was using java moss as the substrate, how much ventilation are you eggs getting? ive got about 9 left viable

Only about five pin holes in the lid, so very little. I'm using those little cups like you would get salsa to-go in.

ugh-im down to 5 left viable.....i dont think i will take them away from the mother next time, as last time i had 13 hatch of whatever she originally laid.
