Are there any neotenic salamander species that can coexist in a tank with axolotls?

I was wondering as I have not seen any people keep other neotenic salamanders as tank mates with them if there were any compatible species.

I have heard of people keeping neotenic tiger salamanders with axolotls. Read about it somewhere on this forum recently.

Aren't all albino axolotls tiger salamanders/ axolotls mixed? If you can get a neotonic tiger salamander then you can keep them together I'm pretty sure. Don't quote me I've never done it

Well, I would imagine if they had room and were about the same size you could keep neotenic mole salamanders or neotenic tigers in with one.

Best get a second tank if you're interested in a second species.

I've read that water dogs, the tiger salamander pups, are generally more voracious and cannibalistic than axolotl. If you housed them together, you'd get one very beat up axolotl and a soon to be salamander that would need an entirely new set up once they morph, so they wouldn't be able to be housed together anyway in the long run.

Maybe if the tank was huge, like a 75gal, and you had all of the hides for them to space out, but you'd still end up removing the one later on; it wouldn't be a permanent housing situation.

Were you just curious over all, or are you looking for something a little different to house with an axie?

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
